RELAUNCH IN 2018

On June 4, 2018, the annual cooperation signing ceremony for “Born in Sanjiangyuan - National Park Creation” Project 2018 was held at the GAC Motor Guangzhou Plant, drawing back the curtain to reveal the GAC Motor “I Come to Protect Sanjiangyuan” Wetland Protector Action 2018. This year, the volunteer team will go to Hoh Xil, the core conservation area of the Yangtze River Source Park in Sanjiangyuan. It is a world natural heritage site with the largest area, the highest average elevation, the largest number of lakes in China, and with vast mammal migration landscapes. Volunteers will work on animal treatment, Tibetan antelope conservation, lake site environment observation, waterfowl observation & monitoring and cultural protection & inheritance.

BORN IN SANJIANGYUAN
- NATIONAL PARK CREATION

One of the innovations of the Chinese government's ecological civilization system is particularly eye-catching - the establishment of a national park system in China. The first national park of the new system was established in 2015. Sanjiangyuan (“Three-River-Source”) National Park is China's first national park pilot area approved by the central government (December 2015) and the largest national park pilot area in China. It is intended to demonstrate and showcase the protection and restoration of plateau, grassland and wetland ecosystems and establish a pioneering zone in harmony between man and nature. It is a real beginning in the discovery of new systems for the establishment of ecological civilization and is thus of great significance to the strengthening of the national ecological security barrier.

GAC Motor and the WWF work together for Sanjiangyuan National Park Administration in terms of ecological protection and institutional innovation. This is not only a positive response in support of national policies but also a social responsibility that Chinese companies should undertake and fulfill. It is hoped that more companies and individuals will participate in environmental protection through this action.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES
REVIEW OF PROJECTS IN 2017

As the first company to participate in the construction of a national park, GAC Motor entered into a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the WWF and the Sanjiangyuan National Park Administration that is valid until 2020, providing 5 GAC Motor vehicles as Sanjiangyuan National Park project and patrol cars for the first phase in order to support the park patrol work. GAC Motor also launched the "I Come to Protect Sanjiangyuan" wetland Protector Action group, sent employee volunteers, supplier volunteers and media volunteers to the Sanjiangyuan region to fulfill a range of ecological protection and volunteer service actions in May, June and July.

    Maximize the application of corporate brand influence and communication advantages, jointly promote public participation in the publicity and education of ecological protection in the Sanjiangyuan National Park, create long-term sustainable social participation means and platform that meet the needs of Sanjiangyuan National Park, and provide an example for the management of volunteers in the Chinese national park system.

    The three parties work jointly, or on their respective platforms, to attract the attention of the whole society to invest in China's national parks and natural ecological protection projects.

DISCOVERY OF HOH XIL

Qinghai Hoh Xil National Nature Reserve is located in the west of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province, with a total area of 4.5 million hectares. It is a nature reserve with well-preserved original ecological environment for the whole world at the beginning of the 21st century. It is also one of the largest nature reserves in China with the highest elevation and the most abundant wildlife resources.

WETLAND PROTECTOR ACTION

DISCOVERY OF HOH XIL TO TRACE THE ORIGIN OF CHINESE CIVILIZATION

From July 2018 to August 2018, GAC Motor "I Come to Protect Sanjiangyuan" Wetland Protector Action 2018 will be launched. GAC Motor “Sanjiangyuan Protectors” composed of GAC Motor dealers and media from all over the country will go to the Yangtze River source area as a volunteer service team to carry out ecological protection activities and help to build a better national park future.

  • Exchange at the Hoh Xil Administration

    Accompanied by Ren Yonglu, a member of the Party Committee and deputy director of Sanjiangyuan National Park Administration, and with Yan Jianming, deputy general manager of GAC Motor, media volunteers from all over the country went to the Qinghai Hoh Xil National Nature Reserve Administration for exchange, so as to gain an in-depth understanding of Hoh Xil natural resources and ecological values and learn how to better serve as volunteers in the Yangtze River Source Park

  • Initial Discovery of the Holy Land of Hoh Xil

    For the first anniversary of Hoh Xil becoming a world natural heritage site, GAC Motor "I Come to Protect Sanjiangyuan" wetland protectors drove GS8 patrol vehicles from Golmud to Hoh Xil, the hinterland of Yangtze River Source Park, arriving at the Sonam Dargye Conservation Station to carry out ecological protection experience activities and trace the origin of Chinese civilization.

  • "Trace the Origin of Civilization, Protect the Yangtze River" Water Intake Ceremony

    At the Sonam Dargye Conservation Station, wetland protectors held the "Trace the Origin of Civilization, Protect the Yangtze River" water intake ceremony. Ren Yonglu, member of the Party Committee and deputy director of Sanjiangyuan National Park Administration, and Yan Jianming, deputy general manager of GAC Motor filled a special container with Yangtze River Source water taken from the Chumar River. GAC Motor wetland protectors will bring this bottle of water from the source of the Yangtze River, which represents civilization, to the GAC Motor Guangzhou Plant and call on more people to trace the source of civilization and protect the Yangtze River.

    On July 7, 2017, Hoh Xil was officially included into the World Heritage Site List. It is the world's natural heritage site with the largest area, the highest average elevation, the largest number of lakes and with large mammal migration landscapes. The harsh climate and leisurely highland animals make life appear fragile but tenacious.
